VISITING THE AQAURIUM: There are four parts to your journey.
Each one is exciting and educational. Discover the Bay, Under the Bay, Touch
the Bay and Save the Bay all play a role in the Aquarium's ultimate mission
to create experiences that inspire the conservation of San Francisco Bay and
all marine environments.

DISCOVER THE BAY: Begin
your exploration of San Francisco Bay with an introduction to its key
features. Learn how the Bay's environment nurtures a diverse community
of aquatic life from the tiniest shrimp to the most regal shark. Discover
the Bay features eight fascinating exhibits with over a thousand
animals.

Here you'll have your first encounter with
one of the Aquarium's expert naturalists who will be on hand to answer questions
throughout your visit. It's the perfect beginning to learning more about
the mysterious world beneath the Bay and gathering in-depth knowledge about
its residents.

UNDER THE BAY: The Aquarium
adventure continues with a descent into the hidden world of life under
San Francisco Bay. A moving walkway will take you through two crystal
clear tunnels, 300 feet in length. You'll be surrounded by 700,000 gallons
of filtered Bay water and more than 23,000 aquatic animals.

In the first tunnel you'll see a colorful
and dynamic near-shore habitat. In the second tunnel you'll meet the mysterious
and compelling marine life that lives in the deep water outside the Bay.
From captivating bat rays to rare angel sharks to the graceful giant pacific
octopus, it is truly an extraordinary look at life under the Bay.

TOUCH THE BAY: The journey
continues as you walk through a re-creation of coastal California. Here
you'll encounter a series of touch pools where you can touch live bat rays,
leopard sharks, and tide pool animals. It's a rare opportunity to get up
close and personal with the captivating inhabitants of the San Francisco
Bay.

SAVE THE BAY: This is the
final exhibit of your journey. Here, you'll receive information about how
you can become involved to help save our precious marine environments.

The Save the Bay exhibit also includes a
retail store filled with aquatic gifts and memorabilia.

Sunday until 7:00pm; Extended summer hours (May 25 - September 3): 9:00am
to 8:00pm; Closed Christmas Day and for special events.
